Our policies
City Works, Alfred Street, Gloucester, United Kingdom, GL1 4DF
Our policies set out our commitment, responsibility and approach. They reflect our values and our vision that ‘everyone in Gloucestershire is active every day’.
Active Gloucestershire is dedicated to fostering an active lifestyle for everyone in the county through a series of comprehensive policies. These include the Equality, Inclusion, and Diversity Policy, ensuring fair access to activities; the Safeguarding Policy, protecting participants, especially children and vulnerable adults; the Privacy Policy, safeguarding personal data; and the Complaints Policy, providing a clear process for addressing concerns.
We regularly update these policies to stay relevant and reflective of their values and vision. You will find our policies on this page.
Equality, inclusion & diversity policy
At Active Gloucestershire, we recognise that physical activity brings communities together and can be a catalyst for change and inclusion. However, we also acknowledge that inequalities around access to physical activity opportunities exist.
Although many sports, physical activity and leisure organisations maintain that they have an ‘open door’ policy, this has not necessarily altered traditional levels of participant involvement in physical activity.
Research shows that many physical activities suffer from low participation by women, girls, ethnic minority groups, low socio-economic communities, disabled people, older adults and young people and that these groups are therefore under-represented.
Safeguarding Policy
Safeguarding is the process of promoting the wellbeing & welfare of children and vulnerable adults by protecting them from abuse, maltreatment, and harm, ensuring safe care and enabling optimal outcomes.
It focuses on individuals who may suffer significant harm and includes procedures for handling concerns
Privacy Policy
This policy explains when and why we collect personal information about people who engage with us, how we use it, the conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.
We may change this policy from time to time so please check this page occasionally to ensure that you’re happy with any changes.
If you have any questions regarding this policy and our privacy practices, please contact our appointed compliance officer

Diversity Action Plan
This plan is both internally and externally facing, detailing what we are doing to promote and embed sound equality and diversity practices within our own organisation and also looking at how we are reaching and working with under-represented groups within the we can move movement and providing them with greater opportunities to access physical activity.
Culture Handbook
We want this handbook to give you an insight into who we are, what we do and what makes us tick and as such, we encourage you to use this handbook to understand a little more about the values that drive us, the issues that matter to us and the way in which we operate.
Complaints Policy
Active Gloucestershire, the regulator of we can move, is committed to providing high quality services and to continuously improving those services.
However, there will be times when you may be unhappy about the services that we can move provides. We want to hear about it – without your feedback we cannot improve.
