Friday 18 October is Gloucestershire’s Daily Mile Big Day. A day when all primary schools can celebrate what they do to get children active.

How does my school sign up to the Big Day?

If you’re a Gloucestershire school and would like to be a part of The Daily Mile Big Day sign up here. You can only sign up if you’re a member of school staff.

Can I take part if my school doesn’t do The Daily Mile?

Yes, your school can still take part on Friday 18 October if it doesn’t do The Daily Mile. However if your school would like to find out more about how to start The Daily Mile at your school, click here.

How do we take part on the day?

The Daily Mile can take place in your school at any time on 18 October – there is no need to change and no special equipment is required. All the children in school can take part – it’s 15 minutes of jogging or running at their own pace and teachers can join in too!

What will my school get when it signs up?

All schools will receive:

  • Big Day school Assembly resource pack
  • ‘How to guide’ with lots of handy hints and tips on running an extra special Daily Mile
  • Downloadable poster to promote the Big Day in school
  • ‘We did it’ Big Day certificate for your school

There will also be:

  • social media to celebrate all schools taking part
  • press coverage of the event
  • the chance to win a visit from Adventureman, Jamie McDonald!

To win a visit from Adventureman all you have to do is send us a photo or video of your school taking part in The Daily Mile Big Day on Friday 18 October. Send us your picture here.
