    Our programmes are designed for international teenagers who want to spend their holidays in the UK and learn English.

    Activity Leaders for Oxford International are paramount to the success of these programmes. They plan and run engaging, inclusive and safe onsite activities and lead the cultural excursions.

    The onsite activities vary from sports coaching, creative workshops such as arts and crafts, photography and drama, competitive sessions like the egg-drop challenge, discos, talent shows and other whole campus events and relaxing board game and films nights. Activity Leaders have the opportunity to be creative, if you have a special talent and want to teach our students something, creativity if actively encouraged!

    Excursions are a chance for our students to see exciting cities and places of interest. The Activity Leaders will give tours of these places and provide the students with exciting cultural and historical information. Ample support and materials are provided for the excursions.

    Activity Leaders live and work in the centres, undertaking some welfare duties such as meal and accommodation supervision, airport meet and greets and any administrative assistance the senior staff require.

    We look for no qualifications, but just passion, charisma and a little bit of experience of working with young people.

    You need to be:
    Eligible to work in the UK
    18 or over

    You should have:
    Strong communication skills
    Native or near native level of English
    Great organisational skills with a proactive planning approach
    Flexibility, adaptability and ability to cope with changing priorities
    A drive to work with fun, like-minded people to work collaboratively and contribute to team success
    The ability to motivate a group of young people

    You must:
    Be a confident, outgoing and sociable character
    Have a positive, “can-do” approach to work
    Demonstrate high levels of professional conduct
    Demonstrate respect for equal opportunities and respect for race and diversity

    It would be great if you:
    Have experience of working in a residential setting

Testing a new way of working, the main purpose of this shared role is:

    • To be the programme manager for Gloucestershire Moves – Gloucestershire’s whole system, behaviour change approach to raising physical activity levels.
    • To build high level relationships between Sport England nationally and local delivery, thereby strengthening the connections within the system at national and local level
    • To develop a deep understanding of local and national insight relevant to the role and ensure it’s used to inform national and local policy and programmes
    • To create additional leadership and influence within Sport England and the CSP area, contributing to system change within the sector and the wider system.
    • To facilitate new behaviours and ways of working within Sport England and CSPs, as well as between Sport England and CSPs

    The Apprentice will be an integral part of the Cheltenham and North Tewkesbury School Sport Network (SSN) team, improving the level of PE and school sport across the area.

    The Apprentice will work in specific primary schools as well as within the SSN team assisting in programmes in primary, secondary and special schools throughout the network.
    The Apprenticeship programme will include being involved in national and local programmes, school sports festivals and cluster events, School Games competitions, supporting major network events, placement opportunities in local schools, as well as working in the Network’s coaching team and supporting community based holiday camps.

    This Apprenticeship is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people, inspiring them to get more involved in physical activity and promoting positive experiences within a school environment.
    You will be involved in a variety of duties, which will include:

    - Assisting in the creation of a fun, positive, safe and inclusive learning environments
    - Supporting small groups and individuals in the teaching environment and setting up activities
    - Clearing away resources
    - Looking after all sports equipment and maintaining wall displays etc. as guided by teaching staff

    You will be coordinating off-site sporting events and developing and assisting with the provision of lunchtime and after school sports clubs, including Change 4 Life Clubs.

    Part of your role will also include being willing to accompany students on educational visits, outings and sporting events as supervised by the teacher or senior person responsible.

    You will be developing positive relationships and acting as a role model to others at all times, as well as acting as an ambassador for the school and the School Sport Network. Part of your role will also include assisting with the organisation and delivery of various events across primary, secondary and special schools.

    In addition, you will be involved in administration tasks which will include:

    - Letter writing
    - Bookings
    - Transport arrangements
    - Marketing
    - Social media duties

    Requirements and Prospects – Desired Skills:

    A full, clean driving license will be required, as the role will involve travelling between local schools and events, in addition to a clean DBS certificate

    Skills, abilities and personal qualities required includes experience of working with children and young people within physical activity, sport and education. You must be able to interact and communicate appropriately with pupils, parents, school staff and colleagues and have experience and the ability to work across a range of PE and sport activities i.e. Level 1 and 2 NGB awards

    You must have the enthusiasm to motivate and inspire pupils, to ensure they enjoy sport and strive towards fulfilling their true potential. You will have the ability to work as part of a team as well as being able to use own initiative and work independently

    The ideal candidate will be organised, reliable with excellent time keeping, be supportive to pupils’ needs, a strong communicator, flexible, a good team player and hard working

    Experience of working within a sporting, educational or administrative context would be advantageous, however a determination to see young people participate and succeed in sport is of the utmost importance. Strong problem solving, communication and team work skills will form a key element of the position, with the successful candidate anticipated to regularly utilise their skills in forward planning and initiative

    The ability to work effectively as part of a team will form an essential part of this role, with the ability to adapt plans and have the foresight to potential obstacles being of paramount importance

    Individuals with outstanding organisational skills are sought, however further training will be provided to support the long term development of the right candidate

    Personal Qualities:

    The successful applicant will need to have strong communication skills which can inspire and engage young people from the outset. A caring and compassionate approach to sensitive issues may also be required on occasions, in addition to the ability to be flexible across the network. The responsibilities associated with this role mean that a proactive individual with good initiative would be well suited to this post

    Furthermore, the successful applicant will be an organised, logical and innovative individual who has a natural infinity in creating engaging written pieces for the network’s website and press releases. Good timekeeping and an optimistic approach will all be traits sought in candidates who can act as professional role models at all times

    You will also need to be confident, a good team player and hard working. The network are seeking an outgoing and inspiring individual who can raise the aspirations of others and encourage pupils to fulfil their true potential through the medium of sport

    Desired Qualifications:

    No formal qualifications are required as full training will be provided. It would however be extremely advantageous to possess qualifications relevant to sport, in addition to administrative experience and a critical attention to detail
    Please note that strong literacy and numeracy skills will also be beneficial.

    Cheltenham and North Tewkesbury School Sports Network is very keen to progress all apprentice staff through the bespoke training opportunities they offer and can host superb professional development opportunities that will vastly enrich any individuals CV towards a sports or education based career.
