A talented Head of Insight & Intelligence is needed to join Active Gloucestershire who have an ambition to radically change the county’s approach to healthy living. Our aspirations are to reverse the downward trend in physical activity levels through the creation of a social movement and we are looking for a Head of Insight & Intelligence to play a vital role developing an insight and learning culture to support this.

Joining as the Head of Insight & Intelligence you will lead on developing expertise across the team to gather and use quantitative and qualitative data and intelligence effectively to influence decisions and help evaluate our programmes across the county.

Whether you are researching, analysing and interpreting complex data sets, creating and managing systems to enable optimised use of intelligence across our programmes, identifying opportunities to link data sets to help evaluate the impact of programmes, developing and managing an insight steering group, overseeing our project management system or creating processes and tools to support a culture of insight and learning across the organisation, it will be your results driven nature and ability to influence cultural change that will ultimately make a real difference to hundreds of thousands of lives.

The Head of Insight and Intelligence is a pivotal senior role reporting directly to the CEO. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and over-seeing a culture of insight and learning within our organisation and the wider county stakeholder group that we work with.

To qualify… You should be a Head of Insight & Intelligence / Head of Insight / Senior Business Intelligence Analyst / Senior Insight Analyst / Senior Data Integrator or similar with a CV that demonstrates:

  • You are educated to Master’s degree level or can evidence a highly developed specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and experience;
  • Experience of working with complex and detailed data, ideally within heath / physical activity;
  • A high level of statistical and analytical skills;
  • The ability to research from complex multiple sources;
  • Experience of working on quantitative and qualitative methodologies;
  • Considerable experience of using project management systems (preferably Smartsheets);
  • You are highly analytical with excellent problem-solving skills;
  • The ability to work as part of a close-knit team.

We are looking for a freelance minute taker to record all our Board and committee meetings.

You’ll work with the CEO, Chair of the Board, Chair of the Finance & Resources committee and the Chair of the Nominations & Remuneration committee to produce notes from all the meetings throughout the year.

Your role will involve:

  • attending every Board, Finance and Resource and Nominations and Remuneration committee meeting (approx. 15 per year)
  • recording all key discussions, decisions, and actions that take place during these meetings and produce comprehensive notes
  • provide the CEO with comprehensive minutes within one week of the meeting date
  • maintaining confidentiality with regards to all items discussed at the meetings

About you:

  • You will be a competent and experienced note taker who can work to a deadline
  • You will have experience of minute taking in a committee setting
  • You will enjoy developing your knowledge of new and often complex subject matters
  • You will have excellent time management and organisational skills

Knowledge and experience:

  • Experience of note taking within a committee setting
  • Proven track record of producing and distributing accurate records of meetings
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Strong IT skills – specifically Word.

  3. Excellent organisational skills
  4. Strong time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
  5. Confidence to seek confirmation of statements, ideas, decisions, action items

Freelance Community Engagement Officer

We are looking for a freelance Community Engagement Officer to work with our Physical Activity Specialist and Senior Project Officer to conduct extensive mapping and engagement of older adult social and community group members.

Your role will involve:

  • Working to targets of engaging with and recruiting a number of community group members across Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Forest of Dean and the Cotswold areas
  • Driving uptake of the Fall-Proof Strength and Balance Plan campaign
  • Use of Microsoft office and monitoring and measuring group uptake

You will:

  • Be competent and experienced in engaging with community groups, especially those with older adults
  • Be ambitious and target driven
  • Have excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Be flexible to work at a range of times suited to the schedule of community groups

  • Good team working skills
  • Ability to work remotely and on own initiative
